What should I do?

So I have a choice to make, and i'd like any opinions that you'd like to give.

I have 3 classes left till I graduate with a dual major in Finance and Economics. I have to take a BPS (breadth physical science) class... aka some lame freshman biology or chemistry class I shoulv'e taken a long time ago.

Then I have to take 2 Econ classes that are 5000 level or higher.

The problem is I'm only interested in one econ class that is being offered in spring. The rest make me want to rub a cheesegrater across my forehead (name that movie!). So do I take a semester off to work and take the classes I really would like to learn more about in the fall? Do I suffer and take one class in spring to get it overwith? or do I take one class now and leave one class for the fall?

Here are my econ class options/class descriptions:

I'm interested in 5000, 5200, 5500, and 5600

ECON 5100: History of Economic Thought
Origin and development of economic theories of leading thinkers in western civilization.

ECON 5300: Industrial Organization- Game Theory
Emphasizes market structure, firm conduct, and economic efficiency. Topics include competition, game theory, monopoly, oligopoly, monopolistic competition, firm strategies, and anti-trust policy in the United States.

ECON 5600: Financial Economics
Introduction to development of our present system of money, banking, and financial institutions. Analysis of central bank policy, capital markets, speculative markets, and portfolio theory.

ECON 5000: Advanced Macroeconomic Topics
Covers advanced topics in macroeconomics. Exact topics depend on recent developments in the macroeconomic discipline, the research and teaching expertise of the faculty, and the current state of the macroeconomy, both inside and outside of the U.S. Focuses on studying the most recent developments in macroeconomic theory and applying the theory to the pressing problems in the contemporary macroeconomy.

Taught by Frank Caliendo, who I've heard is an awesome professor

ECON 5110: Economic History of the United States
Development of agriculture, industry, transportation, and finance from colonial times.

ECON 5150: Comparative Economic Systems
History, economic theories, and comparative policies of communist, socialist, and capitalistic economies. Problems facing transition economies.

ECON 5200: Money and Banking
Covers financial markets and the determination of interest rates and asset prices; the money supply process; the structure of the Federal Reserve System and the goals of the Federal Open Market Committee; other topical central banking issues; and the effects of monetary policy on output, interest rates, inflation, unemployment, financial markets, and exchange rates.

ECON 5400: International Trade Theory
Intermediate-level issues in international trade theory and commercial policy. Topics include competitive and noncompetitive trade models, trade policy, balance of payments accounting, exchange rates, international lending and investment, and economic growth.

ECON 5500: Public Finance

One of the most important questions in economics is when or if we should abandon the personal decisions of markets and substitute choosing with and for others through government. By examining the economic activities of government, including taxation, spending, and regulation, this course attempts to answer that question.

Comment on what classes you think I should take and if I should:

A) take sring semester off, and take the classes i'm interest in during fall
B) take one now and one in fall
C) Suffer thru one uninteresting class and one good class
D) Something else

Thanks!!

You Won't Believe It But....

It'a a girl!!!!

Wait- what?? I know I know, you won't believe it but we did. We bought another Yorkie. This time it's a darling little girl! She is SOOOO CUTE!! I'm so glad we found her. She happened to be in Logan too! She is AKC registered, and so small and darling.

We still don't know what we are going to name her. Our top names are Rio (as in where Brock served his mission in Brasil) and Gucci.

A few others are:
Ritzy
Belle
Elly
Choco
Versace
Zuzi (like suzie)

(added some more names)
Ilse/Ilsa
Porscha
Sophie
Adelade
Elsie
Akira
Laika
Xala
Harley

Any ideas would be great, so if you have a good puppy name leave a comment and maybe we'll pick yours. If you do, then you deserve some sort of prize!!

Here are some pics, enjoy!

Don't worry Howie- I still love you the most! He was so shy around her at first, then when she started getting curious and exploring he growled a little and nipped at her.

•Great things are in store.
•If we step aside from where "the sticks" or priesthood, that mark the path, then we are lost.
•Having children happens in the lords time. We don't understand the lords time table, but we put things in the lords hands and we are blessed with our desire.
•We are judged for our works and for the desires of our hearts. Do the best you can.
•Personal revalation: When will the lord communicate with us? Shut up and listen. The lord won't wake up someone to reveal to them (drowsy and tired in church).
•Wake up early, pray then study scriptures. Makes his time more effective and so he doesn't forget things. •"Biblical trash", numbers, song of Solomon.
•NO TEXTING during church, he condemns it! Its disrespectful and distracting.
•Lord reveals on his own time, way, and will.
•Satan doesn't have much time. Greatest temptation will be with things that are the greatest to the plan of our Heavenly Father. Things that take away agency-alcohol, (interferes with the power of the mind) tobacco, drugs. pornography, things that drive away the spirit. Anything that destroys the family: De-emphasis of marriage.
•Jesus taught he is the son of God
•The church has no choice but to defend marriage as between man and woman. It has been that way for millenia. We will teach the wrongness of same sex attraction.
•Hold fast to the things that keep us qualified to feel the spirit, attend all church meetings.

Coastal Scents

So this is a picture of the eyeshadow palatte I just bought from coastalscents.com. It was only $18.95 and has over 88 different colors in it. They are fairly little but still- I don't think i'll be running out anytime soon. They have tons of colors, the next palatte I want to get is the 88 warm (CLICK).

Anyways, I've been super excited about halloween, makeup, and trying out new things. SO I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for me, OR if there were any makeup looks you'd want to see. I've seen tinkerbell looks, geishas, 80's rockers, skull masks and even masqurade masks- painted on the face! If anyone wants to be a victim- or to play makeup with me let me know.

I also need to put up some pictures of my house all decorated and ready for halloween! Those will be coming soon. Leave your comments! Thanks!

The past two days...

So, I've got to be honest. The past two days have been unusually awesome for me. Let me divulge.

(this post is worth reading, even though it's really long)

Tuesday evening was a meeting for the Huntsman School of Business, Business Council Meeting. I was invited to attend because I've expressed interest in being on the Council. It was on the 9th floor of the business building, which might I say is one of my favorite places in Logan because the sight is gorgeous. The room is so fancy with leather chairs and formal decor. Anyways I went to go find a seat and some guy sitting on the couch, (mind you I didn't know him) jokingly says, "oh here I saved you a seat". I sit down and he says, "sorry if I stink I just came from lifting".

Wow. That's a nice thing to say, so I say something like- "yeah I wasn't gonna say anything" and then I was like pretending to flex and I said, " so which way to the gym eh? I got a kick out of it because I was totally, well not entirely making fun of him but you know- that was a pretty bad way of trying to make me think he works out. Anyways we talked a bit more because I recognized him from one of my classes, and I swear he was making all attempts to look at my left hand- specifically the ring finger.

ANYWAYS, the meeting went great.

So the next day (Wednesday) I get up and go to work where I trained on Positive Leadership. It was rather fun, though I felt like my co-workers thought it was quite dull... and then started work at 9am.

At about 10:45 I get a call from Landon, the Business Council Senator (aka student president) and he says, "Now I totally understand if you can't, because this is so short notice but I was wondering if you could help out the COB (college of business) with a photo shoot they are doing of some student around the city."

Um. Duh? I was stoked! So I got permission from my super awesome boss to go out on the town. We went to the Tabernacle, Cafe Ibis, the Italian Place (never been there- but sandwiches looked great) and then was treated to lunch at Cafe Sabor. When the photographer was taking some pictures of me by myself he said, "Wow, who found this girl" and something to the extent of how good looking I was.

Hey look, i'm not making this up! That was he said... so don't think i'm narcistic :D

Ha, so hopefully the pictures turn out great. I'm sure they will. It did get kind of, um, scandalous?- because it was one picture with me on a bench with one guy, then at a table with another guy, and so on ....so hopefully no one gets the wrong impression! (Just look for my ring bling in the pictures- I told them Brock might beat them up if they weren't careful).

Anyways it really was fun, and the guys- all but one was married- kept asking me all this womanly advice like we were buddies. It was great. The pictures are going to be used in a magazine for the COB and as soon as I find out when it will be published I'll try and get a copy to post some of the pictures.

So on to the excitement of today!

My first class is operations management from Ron Godfrey, who might I say is an AWESOME professor. He really really cares about the students and wants us to take real life lessons away from class. The first day he said, "I want you to make as many mistakes as you can in this class because it's a risk free environment. There's no money to loose, no jobs at stake- you are here to learn."

Aparently his daughter was married 30 minutes before class had started yet he stil showed up. He had a luncheon about 15 minutes after class ended too. So he taught us today about inventories and whatnot. Then he started talking about how important it is to act, and told a story about how he almost was stabbed once when he was in Missouri or something. Then he was telling us we can do anything we put our minds to, and not to ever let anyone tell us otherwise. He's also told us that we are as good as the students at Harvard. They teach the same cirriculum and we should be proud of our unique ethical standards here at USU, and the international experience alot of people have as well as the diverse language backgrounds. He's a good professor.

At the end of class when the other students were filing out, I put away my things and then waited around because all the exits were blocked by a few straggling students that wanted to talk to him. As they left he turned to me as though he were waiting for me to start talking. I just smiled at him, and he kept looking at me and said, "You know you are going to do very well in business don't you"... I half laughed and he took me aside. He said "in being around you I can tell you've got a demeanor that attracts people to you. You're going to go very far in life and in business or whatever you choose." He was completely sincere and I took it as a very nice compliment.

So I had to call Brock and tell him what my professor just said. It made my day. So I don't know it was but I just felt radiant. I headed to the library to meet up with some students for a group project and as I waited some guy came up to me and randomly started talking to me, aparently the look on my face was rather odd- since that's what he commented on. My group members finally did show up, and we had a great time discussing things for our project.

I had a guest speaker in my investments class. He was a USU grad from 10 years ago, that works in NYC on wall street. He was, shall we say, the typical personality of my view of a New Yorker. Hard, not a lot of emotion as he spoke, and very straight to the point... not to mention very (wall) street smart. FYI: that was a joke.... wall street...get it?

Then I walked home. Some kid drove by and ogled/whistled me- I just threw up the ring and said- you're too late buddy.... Not like you wouldv'e stood a chance anyway!

Ha ha ok I actually didnt but that wouldv'e been way funny.

When I got home I saw that Howie had eaten some of the carpet in out bedroom. So I went and ate taquitos and watched Anastasia downstairs. I'm here now, with my cutie Brock watching youtube in our room and i'm blogging about how awesome life is right now.

Well, i've enjoyed your company today- I hope you've enjoyed this post.

XOXOxoXoxO.

California Trip

Here I am celebrating Danielle and Mike Klappoth weddingness!!! What an amazing story and background of how these two came together! I hope the pictures explain themselves. The wedding was on the beach.... I mean ON THE BEACH in Long Beach CA and it was perfect! Such a blast!!! I'll hopefully get a change to write more but for now here are some pictures!

Of course the two we celebrate:

Notice my tanness level compared to Brock.... :D

Here are the girls for Danielle's bachelorette party at the cheesecake factory!

And of course our suite, rm 341 in the embassy suites hotel next to LAX. It was very gorgeous, and it was cool to see the planes fly so close to the freeway that was just outside of our hotel.

We had 2 TV's, a wet bar, mini fridge and microwave as well as a vanity/sink area in the bedroom. It was so nice!

Thanks! Let me know what you want to know...

A New Post??

Well, normally I don't blog because I don't feel like, or seem to have time. I belive I do have a little time on my hands now!

So lets see, what things have changed since I last blogged.... I became a Mary Kay consultant. Um, yeah that was a random choice but so far it's been surprizingly fun! I've got this giant shelf cupboard thing in my office full of MK product. Brock recently went to Las Vegas and came home richer than when he left! Yes, he gambled... probably only because I told him too. I have to live my life through Brock. (haha just kidding). I have one semester left of school and a summer class I need to find motivation to finish. It's due in August and I haven't done anything on it since last summer.

Howie met some girls and I believe his teenage horomones are kicking in. He's been a little tempermental sometimes but he is the best decision Brock and I have made! We love that little fellow SO MUCH!

Also we bought a Jeep Cherokee, and sold our Mazda! It all happened so fast, but we got a really good deal on this jeep and we decided to try and be better at "provident living" so now we don't have a car loan. That actually feels really really good. And I don't mind having no A/C for now and getting up at 6:30 to take Brock to work. (you have to understand getting up for me is really hard because lately I haven't been able to sleep till 1 or 2am.)

Well if anyone wants to come to our house we would love to have you over. I was finally able to buy new furniture (first time!!) since we've been married and I love my front room. It's exactly what I pictured it looking like! We'd love to come visit any of you and go on a vaction, so any ideas would be great! We are going to California for Danielle Torres and Michael Klappoth's wedding July 22ish so that should be a good vacation.

Thanks for reading!

Our New House

OK, so i'm so sorry it's been too long since my last post... I'll tell ya though, school has kept me busy. Linear programing, isoquants and isocosts, stock market investments, exchange rate determination using valuation equations, and retail market theory has surely kept me busy. (Yes, I was trying to impress you with how smart I sound).

But on to the news....Brock and I think we're ready to go public.... we're buying a house!! We are SOOOO excited, and love absolutely everything about the house, except for the big mortgage that comes with it :) I wanted to post some pictures of the house. It's basically in between the Logan hospital and USU. Right now we're at the stage where we are waiting on the underwriters to take a look at our loan, then the title work/paper work will need to be done and we will be the proud new owners! Brock's birthday is also coming up in about a month (May 16th) and I know he's super excited to be getting house stuff- the manly kind of stuff like power tools and whatever.

Anyways here is our baby!!

They ripped up the carpet and professionally restored the beautiful hardwood floors.
Brand new kitchen... the appliances haven't been used!
Pink tub is the best :D
Party basement...

Big backyard, with a huge garden...
So there it is... hopefully things will go by fast so we can move into our new home as soon as possible. We're so excited and so glad we've got our families close by to share the fun with us!

Enjoy! Let me know what you think!

Free Blog Backgrounds

So I found this new website where you can get cute backgrounds, it's called myblogmakeover.blogspot.com I didn't want to tell anyone about it so I would be the only one with cute backgrounds so people in the blogging world would think i was cool for being original BUT now i guess i'll just have to be cool because i was the first person to hear about it... or was i? :D There are other places like, "cutest blog on the block" and stuff that you can use as well. Funny enough I found this via craiglist.

It's funny I'm not currently using a background from this because I just changed it to this cute pink one that I really like. BUT check out MY OTHER BLOG and you'll see one of my favorite backgrounds from that new site.

and yes, I am due for another large blog about things that are going on... that is yet to come. Good thing spring break is here, that should give me some time.

iPhone is MyPhone

So I’m getting an iPhone today. In fact it is 11:45 AM and I am meeting my parents at La Tormenta in 15 minutes to have lunch and then drive over and make the purchase.
My stomach is doing back flips- and I have no idea why. Is this excitement? Anxiety? Am I spending too much money when I should just be saving it? I took a women’s one-a-day today (well half of one) because I decided that would be my excuse for why I feel so crazy. This phone is SO cool, and I hate my old phone. Stupid T-Mobile shadow. I wouldn’t suggest to anyone to buy the brand name phone that is made by your carrier. Buy a phone from a company that specializes in phones like Blackberry, Motorola, or LG. Ok well I can’t say the necessarily specialize in cell phones but they’ve done a lot better job that T-Mobile.
So my Dad asked me why I want an iPhone, what does it have that my current phone does not. Well for one, my old phone doesn’t really work and I need to send it in under the warrantee to have it replaced. The camera doesn’t work, whenever I text it spells words that are beyond my comprehension- it is not very smart at guessing what I am trying to say. I can get on the internet but it isn’t very reliable (wireless only). These are only a few. The iPhone on the other hand, well lets get real. There are thousands of app’s you can download that do anything and everything. There is an app that allows you to blow in the mike, and play it like an instrument. There’s an app so your iPhone can act like a level so you can hang pictures, you can budget your checking and savings accounts, check stock prices, exchange rates, give you recipe suggestions, you can even tell it to “fake call” you at a designated time. WOW this is not a phone, this is the world at my fingers!
I had thought of something profound in the shower today but now I can’t remember what .
Well I’m back! I’ve had lunch, and ate an apple- more like I am now a consumer of the iPhone! How cool! More to come!

Stem Cell Research

So I am teaching my class in a week about Stem Cell Research, and can I just let everyone know something....

I am Pro-Choice. If you choose to have sex, then you choose to live with the consequences of that choice. Which means creating human life. Once you have made that choice abortion is not an option.

Why do so many people think you can do things with out having consequence. If I want to jump up, I have to realize that because of gravity I will come back down. Intercourse leads to pregnancy, it's a simple fact.
